Are Hackers Putting Pornographic Videos With Your Name on Facebook?

Nobody wants to be a victim of hackers compromising Facebook accounts. Nevertheless, the messages below have already been debunked as a viral hoax.

facebook hacker

Attention friends! hackers are doing damage again on facebook! pornographic movies are being posted on our behalf on the walls of our profiles! we do not see them, but other people do, as if it were our publication! sometime even our supposed comments appears. if you see such a thing in my homepage, alert me and do not open it because it is a virus! ...copy and re post this message

The hackers already entered in facebook they are putting pornographic videos to your name in the walls or profiles of your friends without you knowing it. you don´t see it, but other people can see it, as if these were a publication that you made! so if you receive something from me, it's not mine! copy this in your wall. it is for the security of your own image!

Although it is very possible that a "hacker" can take hold of your Facebook account, the likely culprit behind why people "unknowingly" post and spread stuff on their wall are NOT the hackers but malicious Facebook applications. Consider doing the following to protect your Facebook account.

How to Protect Your Facebook Account

1. Avoid clicking on tabloid like news posted by your friends on Facebook. These are likely clickjacking scams spread to make people answer surveys. Clickjacking scam messages have the ability to automate reposting of the message once you click on its link, image or video. If you see these messages, report them as spam.

2. Protect your personal information. Do not be lured into submitting personal data such as address and email in exchange of free giveaways. It also helps to always verify sites and pages that ask for your Facebook username and password. Scammers have been creating sites that mimic the Facebook log in page to steal your login credentials.

FAKE Facebook page3. Always log out of your Facebook especially after using a public computer. The person who uses the computer after you do not need any hacking knowledge to post ANYTHING in your Facebook if you left your account open and accessible.

4. Avoid installing rogue Facebook applications. These applications include those that claim to monitor who views your profile and those that are "unknowingly" promoted by your friends via chat messages.

5. Help your friends protect their Facebook accounts. Share this post on Facebook:
