Facebook has teamed up with some premium retailers to offer our users some great gifts! Your account has been randomly selected to receive a free gift.
Your free gift is - 1 iPad 2 64GB.
To claim your gift you must visit http://ipad2.chronine.com/ and follow the instructions on screen.

**IMPORTANT** In order to actually receive your gift card you must enter this Pin/Confirmation number after your shipping address. If you do not enter this pin you will not receive your gift.
The Pin/Confirmation is on page 3 after validating your email and address.
You have until midnight tonight to claim your reward.
Unfortunately, Facebook has not teamed up with any company or retailer to give away stuff. Facebook give aways such as these are common strategies used by scammers to lure people into visiting malicious websites that would entice you to install rogue browser addons or application or answer surveys.
You may also be prompted to provide your personal information such as your contact number, which they can further use to send you more spam or bombard your with marketing garbages.
You will not receive the promised give away by "following the instructions" provided in those pages or sites.

ReplyDeleteI received a text this morning at 2:51am. Don't be scammed and don't click the link in the text if you should get one too. I would assume that's how they access your contact list for more numbers to scam.

ReplyDeleteReceived 1 text on one phone offering the iPad2 and received two texts on my other phone offering the ipad2 and the Best Buy gift card. All three texts list the "confirmation number 3129" a sign of a total scam. Delete. Delete. Delete.

ReplyDeleteAdd "bit.ly/xptU87" to the list of malicious text addresses. I received a couple texts on my phone offering both the iPad2 and the Best Buy gift card. Both texts list the "confirmation number 3129". The gift card was from the chronine address, the ipad offer was from bit.ly/xptU87. Hope somebody's writing them addresses down

ReplyDeleteI really think that Facebook should be telling people about all the scams. That lure people to all these different websites. Maybe Facebook didn't team up with anyone. But some people received gifts from someone. So who's really the liar here? I really would appreciate if Facebook didn't offer me anything except space to write my post. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI keep receiving emails on my non-email accepted cellphone. It is sub-titled "facebook@rewardfacebook.com."
ReplyDeleteThe title is that "I have won a $1,000.00 giftcard to WalMart!
Although I do have my cellphone settings set up not to download the messages, since I choose not to have my cellphone set up to accept emails, and have to pay for each mb if downloaded, it is still a nuisance!
Some of the emails do have the return email address showing...and offer a variety of different "Prizes Won!"...which I have tried to connect to on my PC, with no avail to ending them! ANYBODY ELSE RECEIVING THIS CRAP? HOW DO iI GET IT TO STOP? THANKS!
This is ridiculous! I'm being harassed by txts for free ipads, vacations, gift cards.....how do I make it stop? I always delete because I know it's a scam, but I just want them to leave me alone!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to say how sad it was for me the day I was scammed. I went through this all day long. I suffer from bi-polar and for someone to do hype me up all day long and then at the end of the day when the told me all I have to do is go to Wal Mart and get a card and put 299.00 on it. Then I new it was a scamm. I came down so hard mentally and I had a seizure. I just want the people who did this to me that. My lift is more important to me that what you did. I hope they find you and I know they will. Was it really worth it. Margaret Sandifer
